Candle Care Guidelines

Coconut apricot wax is unique compared to other waxes. Unlike soy wax, which has a “memory” and can tunnel if not burned correctly, coconut apricot wax naturally allows for an even burn over time.

You may notice some wax “hang up” on the sides of the jar in the early stages of burning—this is completely normal. As the candle continues to burn and the jar heats up, the remaining wax will melt away, ensuring minimal waste. A full melt pool typically forms around the halfway mark of the candle’s use, so patience is key for a clean, long-lasting burn.


First Burn – The Most Important Step!

Allow for an even wax melt

  • Burn your candle for 2–3 hours (8.5 oz) or 3–4 hours (14 oz) the first time.

  • Let the melted wax reach the edges of the jar to optimize performance.


Wick Maintenance

Trim your wick before each burn

  • Keep the wick at 1/4 inch to prevent excessive flickering, soot, and smoking.

  • If the wick develops a small carbon "mushroom," trim it off before relighting.


Burn Time & Safety

Limit each burn session

  • Optimal scent throw will be obtained approximately 1-2 hours after your candle is lit

  • Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time.

  • Allow the candle to fully cool before relighting.

 

Avoid drafts

  • Place your candle away from fans, vents, and open windows to ensure an even burn.

 

Always burn on a heat-resistant surface

  • Keep away from flammable objects and never leave a candle unattended.


Proper Storage & Extinguishing

Store in a cool, dry place

  • Avoid direct sunlight and heat to preserve the fragrance and prevent wax sweating.

 

Use a snuffer to extinguish

  • Blowing out a candle can cause excess smoke and leave behind wick debris in the wax. A snuffer helps put out the flame cleanly.

  • Never use water to extinguish a candle—it can cause wax to splatter and may crack the glass jar.

By following these simple steps, your 8.5 oz candle will burn between 45–55 hours, and your 14 oz candle will last approximately 65–80 hours—providing a long-lasting, beautifully scented experience.
